Pixie came to Phoenix Rising after being found very thin on a farm with another horse. The situation was heartbreaking. The horses had not received the care they deserved, and another horse on the property had already passed away before help arrived.

Thankfully, Pixie’s story did not end there. She was brought to safety, where she now has steady meals, proper care, and compassionate people watching over her as she continues to recover.

Pixie is still gaining weight and rebuilding her strength, but her spirit has never disappeared. She is bold, spicy, opinionated, and full of life—a mare who knows exactly who she is and is not afraid to show it.

With time, nutrition, and care, Pixie is growing stronger every day. She is enjoying the simple things every horse deserves: a full belly, a safe place to rest, and people who believe in her future.
